Men seemed particularly keen on some aspects of the surgery, with a 44 per cent rise in the number having a breast reduction to correct their so-called "moobs". Male breast reduction moved into the top five procedures for men, rising from 224 procedures in 2007 to 323 in 2008. In 2003, just 22 breast reductions were carried out on men.
